Two more sleeps…

More gifts for our kids... and the gift of peace from my friend!! Because every trip we take in our family requires a “sleep" count at some point before departure!! So, here we go! Last night we did a dry run and weigh in of my packed suitcase and we are good! Forty Eight pounds of soap, gifts, toys for the kids, and a backpack of goodies for our girl, Ella. Also stuffed in there are gifts for a friends sponsored children in adorable drawstring bags, all prayed over and loved on. I had the privilege of sitting over coffee with her and my little printed schedule and hear about some of the wonderful experiences that await me. What a treat and a comfort to me to have someone who has been where I’m going share her heart with me and calm any remaining fears that were trying to come along.   Packing them up... Days to departure: 10…that’s it, just 10!!

Bars of soap made: 100+…waiting (and trying not to stress over the shipping status of the soap beveler I need for pretty soap) to be cleaned and packaged! Left to get: Work gloves and scarves for the parents of our sponsored child Donations received: $2050…wow…so thankful and I’m so excited to share some soap and thanks with you guys!! Yesterday was a day of contemplation and maybe just a little unexpected anxiety for me so today I’m trying to sort it all out. I thought I’d have a blog post up already, full of pictures of the goodies all packed and ready for Rwanda but apparently, I’ll be doing a last minute rush of packaging soap and weighing my bags. But that’s not the source of my anxiety. I’m sure the seasoned short term missions person understands this feeling, but since I’m not at all experienced, it came as a surprise to me.
